Builder Member: Nathan Baxter of Aldridge, Inc.
Nathan Baxter has been with Aldridge, Inc. since 1956, and has been a member of AAHBA since 1989. Nathan's involvement in the association is unique in that it provides representation for the commercial building industry. Nathan says "Being a member of AAHBA over the years has had a tremendous positive effect on acquiring business contacts." Nathan believes that "AAHBA is a great organization that helps unite and inform members of the building industry about government affairs and related events. It offers many opportunities for education, community awareness and leadership." Nathan has served on the Board of Directors since 1991. He was awarded the 2003 Builder of the Year award.

Nathan Baxter acquired full ownership of Aldridge, Inc. in 1995. During his tenure, the company has grown steadily from a $2,000,000 per year volume to the current annual volume of $70,000,000.
Today Mr. Baxter applies the 48 years of hands on experience with the company at every level, to directing the growth and rock solid stability of the company to its next level of achievement. His personal knowledge and understanding of every facet of the company's operation provides the basis for strong, consistent, and fiscally sound long range planning. Mr. Baxter maintains personal involvement in the day to day details of the business but relies on his cadre of hand selected managers and supervisors to carry on the tradition of quality, personal attention to details, and steady profitability of his company.

Associate Member: Connie Alger of Synovus Mortgage Corporation / AFB&T
Connie Alger has been a member of AAHBA for the past 10 years. She has served on the Associate Council since 2003. She believes that AAHBA "creates a meaningful connection to the community and to other professionals within the building industry. It serves as a common place for ethical professionals to share industry information and expand our business."

AAHBA hosts many activities for industry professionals to gather and network. Connie says, "it's great to network with a fun group of professionals."

She enjoys serving on the Associate Council for several reasons: she has learned leadership skills, she has shared ways to improve our industry and has helped raise money for our association.  

Connie was recognized as Professional of the Year in 2006.
