Awards & Certification

Dan Saye Builder of the Year:
Jason Dickens & Matt Dickens of Dickens Builders, Inc.
This year's Builder of the Year Award goes to a builder team who have been in business together for 12 years. They have been members of the Association since 1997 and are both currently serving on the Board of Directors. They have been very involved in government affairs in Oconee County and have served as chairman of the Oconee County Government Affairs Committee. They also have served on various other committees and one is our current President. They have been involved with various subdivisions and commercial projects in Oconee County and have also been very active in the Oconee County community. They demonstrate what our Builder of the Year Award stands for - someone who is involved in our Association, the community, and an outstanding builder of wonderful homes.

Henry E. Wages Associate of the Year:
Susan Bogardus of First American Bank & Trust
Susan has been a dedicated member of our Association for a number of years. As a member of the Associate Council, she has taken on one of the most awesome responsibilities in chairing the Home & Garden Show. She is presently on her sixth year serving as Chairman! Besides taking the show to a higher level of success, she has worked tirelessly on other projects for the benefit of the Association. AAHBA members have seen her at the registration table at the monthly meetings or the golf tournaments. She can also be found at the Associate Appreciation BBQ making to-go plates or volunteering at the homeless shelter. She is most deserving of this honor and the Association thanks her for her generous donation of time and talent.

Norm Grayson Realtor of the Year:
Lynora Sapp of The Leaders Real Estate Group
Every year we recognize the top Realtor in our Association based on sales of new construction. Because our Realtors are so vital to our industry, we would like to recognize our top Realtor.  Lynora tops our list of outstanding Realtors with the most sales of new construction.

Professional of the Year:
Alec Hodson of Quarterman & Hodson, PC
The Professional of the Year award was established to recognize an Associate member in a professional field who is dedicated to serving the Association and the home building industry.   This year's winner is a relatively new member, but his firm has been a longtime member.  He currently serves on the Associate Council.  His firm is our AAHBA attorney, and they have handled many legal matters for us with no fees.  They have also given legal advice when it was needed. 

Sub-Contractor of the Year:
ABC Supply
The Sub-Contractor of the Year goes to a company who is vital to the home building industry and provides an excellent product or service.  This years recipient can always be relied upon to provide quality products and services to their customers. They have been great supporters of the Association and are known throughout the industry for their excellent sales and service.

Supporter of the Year:
ABC Supply Company
The Supporter of the Year contributed the most through sponsorships, advertising purchases, and by supporting our Association events. The Association relies on these contributions to function and carry out our mission of supporting the home building industry. Also honored as top contributors were: Athens Refrigeration and Appliance, College Pro Landscaping, First American Bank & Trust, Jackson EMC, and Walton EMC.
